Why This Matters

One procedure does not fit every patient.

Patients don’t wake up wanting LASIK. They wake up tired of dry contacts. They wake up frustrated carrying readers everywhere. They wake up worried about cloudy vision affecting their driving. Vision correction is not one solution. It’s a personalized decision that depends on your eyes, your age, and how you live.

Dr. Kerry Solomon helps patients throughout Charleston explore the full range of modern vision correction options and find the one that fits.

Find Your Path

Vision correction at every stage of life.

Start where you are. Your eyes, your decade, your lifestyle — each shapes which options may be right for you.

In Your 20s & 30s

Freedom from glasses and contacts.

If contacts are drying out, glasses are getting in the way, or your lifestyle has outgrown corrective lenses — laser vision correction may be the answer.

In Your 40s & 50s

Life beyond readers.

Reading glasses on every surface? Holding your phone at arm’s length? Modern lens replacement may help you read, work, and drive with less daily friction.

In Your 60s & Beyond

Clearer vision. Greater independence.

Cloudy vision, glare while driving, faded colors — cataracts develop gradually. Modern surgery with premium lens technology can restore clarity and reduce dependence on glasses.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Start with the surgeon, not the procedure.

You don’t need to know which procedure is right for you before you call. That’s what the consultation is for — and that’s where Dr. Kerry Solomon’s experience makes the difference.

Common Questions

Vision correction, answered.

Dr. Kerry Solomon offers a full range of vision correction options: LASIK, EVO ICL, cataract surgery with premium IOL options, refractive lens exchange (RLE), and PRK. The right procedure depends on your eyes, age, prescription, and lifestyle goals. That’s what the consultation is for.

You don’t need to know before you call. Choosing the right procedure depends on factors only a comprehensive evaluation can assess — corneal thickness, prescription stability, eye health, age, and your daily visual needs. The first step is a personalized consultation with Dr. Kerry Solomon to discuss your options.

Many patients who don’t qualify for LASIK may still be excellent candidates for EVO ICL, PRK, refractive lens exchange, or premium lens replacement. LASIK is one of several options — not the only one. A comprehensive evaluation will identify the best path for you.

Age alone does not disqualify you. Patients in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond may benefit from refractive lens exchange, premium lens options, or advanced cataract surgery. The procedure changes with age — but the option to improve your vision rarely disappears.

For many patients, yes. Modern cataract surgery with premium IOLs (multifocal, toric, or EDOF lenses) may help reduce dependence on glasses for distance, intermediate, and reading vision. Lens selection is personalized to your eyes and your visual goals.

Your consultation includes advanced diagnostic testing, a review of your eye health and prescription history, a discussion of your lifestyle and visual goals, and a personalized recommendation from Dr. Kerry Solomon. There is no obligation to schedule surgery — the goal is to understand your options.
