Cataract Awareness Month: What’s New This Year?

August is Cataract Awareness Month, a good time to look back to see what is new since last August. As it turns out, this has been quite an eventful year for Dr. Solomon and his colleagues at Carolina Eyecare Physicians. Why?  Bladeless refractive laser cataract surgery is being performed right here in Charleston! With the arrival of the LenSx® laser at Physicians’ Eye Surgery Center, Dr. Solomon became the first eye surgeon in South Carolina and this part of the country make the safest and most advanced cataract surgery available to his patients. If you live in South Carolina and the southeast, you have something to celebrate during Cataract Awareness Month because you have convenient access to this technology.  Cataract patients from around the country are making their way to Charleston, and other eye surgeons are scheduling trips to meet with Dr. Solomon to learn how to eventually put this technology to work in their own practices.
