EVO ICL is an implantable contact lens that has been around a long, long time. EVO is the newest modification of the ICL. The advantage of EVO is it’s better tolerated, safer, and more successful than it ever was as advancements occur with technology. The other thing that’s been true with EVO is we’ve gotten a better understanding of how to size these implants properly using some new diagnostic and testing equipment like high frequency ultrasound and Anterior Segment OCT technologies that we never had before to size ICLs. Using these technologies, we more accurately size the ICL and specifically the EVO, so that complications which can occur with any procedure are extremely rare, and the success rate of this procedure is very high.
